About Christian Orphan Outreach

"I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.
Matthew 25:40b

Christian Orphan Outreach began in April 2002 as a way to counter the poverty and harsh conditions for Egypt's orphans and street children. Upon meeting a young girl in the community of Cairo, Egypt, by the name of Marina who was practically living in the street, there was no way these conditions could be ignored. Marina was very ill due to an extreme case of malnutrition and infectious living conditions.

A fund was set up to raise money for Marina to bring her back to health and wellness. Within months, Marina was playing, eating, and smiling again. When people began to take note of these conditions, and how a small sacrifice could change a child's life, Christian Orphan Outreach began as an outcry against poverty and living conditions of children.

Our small organization has quickly leaped forward, reaching over 9 orphanages, street children, senior homes, and orphanages for the handicapped and disabled. As of 2007, we have reached over 1,000 children with clothing, school supplies, toiletries, medical supplies, education, and most importantly, the unconditional love of Jesus Christ expressed through human hands and faces.

We're so excited for what the future holds for both our ministry and for the children of Egypt.
